Old Government House was the official residence of the Governors of Queensland from 1862-1909. Since that time the house has been occupied by the University of Queensland, the National Trust and the Queensland Institute of Technology. Old Government House is owned by the Queensland Government, however in October 2002, a Heads of Agreement was signed between the Queensland Government, National Trust of Queensland and Queensland University of Technology for the future conservation, management and use of Old Government House. QUT has accepted responsibility for the continued enhancement of OGH and the accompanying grounds in accordance with the Government's Conservation Plan. QUT have opened the doors of Old Government House for the enjoyment of all Queenslanders and its visitors. Guided tours are also available on request.
