Letters of a Lady - a free public talk and tour of Old Government House
As part of this year's Queensland Week celebrations, Old Government House is paying tribute to the gracious and noble Lady Lamington, wife of Queensland's 8th Governor Lord Lamington 1896-1901.
Lady Lamington's letters home to Scotland and to her husband provides us today with a fascinating, often amusing and occasionally sad account of her time in colonial Queensland.
Come along to Old Government House for a short talk on the treasure trove of information uncovered in the letters of Lady Lamington. Following the talk there will be a tour of the House.
