Functions Overview

In the heart of Brisbane City and overlooking the City Botanic Gardens, Old Government House was the official residence of the Governors of Queensland up until 1910.

The House is the perfect location for elegant and sophisticated events or functions in Brisbane, including cocktail parties, corporate functions, wedding ceremonies and receptions, and any other event that requires an element of distinction. There are various wedding packages to suit your wedding style and budget.

The Hall is located on the lower floor and interconnects with two reception rooms (The Dining Room, Drawing Room) and features stunning staircase and hand crafted chandelier.

The Dining Room provides a stunning setting for the more intimate event and overlooks the front lawn of The House and City Botanic Gardens.

The Drawing Room provides an elegant setting for an indoor/outdoor event and features wrap around verandahs overlooking the back lawn and landscaped gardens.

The Billiard Room, is also located on the lower floor and is ideal for corporate presentations, board meetings or an intimate dining experience.

The Cellar, with its subterranean location provides the perfect ambience to host a memorable occasion that departs from both convention and expectation.

The Day Nursery on the second level of the House offers a private meeting room with an abundance of natural light.

The Lawns of The House including an outdoor Courtyard and landscaped gardens provide the perfect setting for cocktail receptions, ceremonies and pre-dinner drinks.

Catering

QUT does not have in-house catering and we recommend the following caterers be contacted to obtain menus and a detailed quote.

Should the services of another caterer be required, a $300 fee is applicable for use of the Food Preparation Room (terms and conditions apply).

Parking

Pay & Display parking (maximum stay 4 hours) is available 24 hours/7 days in the QUT Short Term Car Park under the freeway on Gardens Point Road, off Alice Street. Daytime parking availability is limited during the university semester.

Car park bookings may be arranged after hours and on weekends for guests attending a specific event and charged back to the client (subject to availability).
