Located in the heart of QUT Gardens Cultural Precinct, and adjacent to the City Botanic Gardens, Old Government House provides the perfect setting for a wide range of events and functions.

This 'handsome and commodious' home (1862, Sir George Ferguson Bowen, first Governor of Queensland) harbours a fascinating history within its sandstone walls. QUT is committed to the restoration of the cultural icon. Three rooms of the House provide a beautiful setting particularly suited to weddings, cocktails functions and meetings or a memorable dinner party or luncheon. Exhibitions and live performances are also feature in this home. Tours of the house can be arranged on request.

There is easy access to Gardens Cultural Precinct by ferry, bus and taxi. Gardens Cultural Precinct is linked to the South Bank Parklands and Brisbane Convention and Entertainment Centre by the Goodwill Bridge.
