Entrance to the Old Government House Museum and the William Robinson Gallery is located on the west side of the house, across from the Lady Bowen Statue.

By foot

Old Government House is a 15-minute walk from the city centre via George Street, or a 20-minute walk from Southbank Parklands via the Goodwill Bridge.

Public transport

QUT Gardens Point is very well serviced by public transport, including CityCat, buses and trains. Visit translink.com.au and plan your trip using the Journey Planner, or call TransInfo on 13 12 30.

Private coach

Coaches may use dedicated Brisbane City Council bus zones near Alice Street, which is a 10-minute walk to Old Government House. Visit brisbane.qld.gov.au/traffic-transport for up-to-date information on coach parking in the CBD.

Taxi or ride-share

A drop-off zone outside Parliament House is located about 300m (5-minute walk) from Old Government House.

Car

Demand on public car parks in the CBD is extremely high. On-campus parking during university semester and weekdays is very limited. We recommend using public transport of alternative arrangements where possible.

Parking

QUT Facilities Management operates parking facilities on campus. Two public pay-on-exit carparks are within short walking distance: Science and Engineering Centre (P-block) and under the Freeway. As with most public CBD car parks, demand during busy periods and university semesters is extremely high, and parking charges for the public reflect this. QUT provides a number of designated Disability Parking bays exclusively reserved for visitors who hold a Disability Parking permit.

Reduced tariffs for evening and weekend parking:

Evening: $5.00 per hour (or part thereof) for entry after 6pm and exit before 12am
Weekend: $10.00 per entry, Saturday and Sunday (must exit before midnight)
