National Lamington Day

Come along and celebrate National Lamington Day at the Home of the Lamington - Old Government House.

A number of venues claim to be the birth place of the Lamington - Old Government House in Brisbane, Harlaxton House in Toowoomba and even New Zealand. But there is no dispute about it, the Lamington was definitely first concocted at Old Government House by French chef Armand Galland. The Lamington was born of necessity - it was Monsieur Galland's answer to the perennial problem of unexpected visitors coming up the path!

Join us on National Lamington Day for a free tour of the House and afterwards enjoy tea/coffee and a Lamington in the Dining Room.

All tours for National Lamington Day are fully booked. For more information about weekly guided tours visit the tours page.
