The Lamington Challenge

To celebrate National Lamington Day on Sunday 21 July, get ready for a lamington-themed morning of activities, when Old Government House opens its doors to the kids and families of Brisbane.

Our interactive Lamington Hunt will have you scurrying between the House and the Cube at QUT's Science and Engineering Centre as you discover clues and answer questions about the iconic lamington in the very place where this delicious cake made its first appearance. Creative kids can enjoy the Craft Corner, where the best lamington-inspired designs will be pinned to a giant lamington for everyone to see.

Kids who complete the Lamington Challenge go into the draw to win one of ten prizes from the lucky dip, which includes an Ekka Family Funday Pass, three kids baking class vouchers courtesy of Cutie Pies Baking School and a Family Day Pass for the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Free coffee from the courtyard café will be available to the first fifty parents, and Merlo will be offering a special National Lamington Day coffee price too.

With a healthy supply of lamingtons, fun-filled challenges and prizes, you won't want to miss out!
