An Early Christmas with the Brisbane Baroque Players

Old Government House presents a Christmas celebration of chamber music performed by the Brisbane Baroque Players. Please join us for an afternoon of music, refreshments, conversation, games and carols to emulate the lively festivities of the Baroque era.

Featuring period instruments including the harpsichord, baroque violin and viola da gamba, the Brisbane Baroque Players is an ensemble of pre-professional musicians exploring the vast range of music written in the Baroque era (1685-1750).

For the first time, the players will form a smaller ensemble to perform in an intimate setting, accompanied by guest artist Meredith Beardmore on baroque flute.

Music selected for the concert will include:

Francois Couperin Les Nations 1726

Michel Delalande Noels c. 1740

George Philipp Telemann Essercizii Musici.Trio 6 TWC 42: h4 c. 1740

Baroque Christmas carols with the audience.

Suited to all ages
