Sunday Concert: Arrivederci Roma - Mandolins of Brisbane

Brisbane Mandolins and the Queensland Mandolin Ensemble present the beauty of Italian song and opera along with popular works for the mandolin.

The program includes a variety of popular songs and operatic themes from composers such as Eduardo di Capua and Luigi Arditi made famous by singers including Carlos Buti and Marietta Piccolomini; a fantasia of themes of La Traviata by composer Giuseppe Verdi, arguably one of Italy's most famous and greatest composers; and a set of popular Italian works for the mandolin by composers such as Primo Silvestri, Edouardo Mezzacapo and Giacomo Sartori with recognisable and catchy instrumental themes.

Mandolins in Brisbane has been performing since 1998 and comprises two orchestras; the Brisbane Mandolin Orchestra (BMO) conducted by Joel Woods and the Queensland Mandolin Orchestra (QMO) conducted by Nathan Aspinall.
