The day begins with a tour of Inspirations, the current exhibition in William Robinson Gallery, followed by a hands-on-workshop in Old Government House.

Domestic scenes dominate William Robinson's early and most recent works – from a still life arrangement by a window, to the vista from his patio. In the workshop, William Robinson: Looking Out, students explore the techniques and subject matter featured in Robinson's practice including his use of perspective, composition, application of media, and colour. Looking out of the grand alcoves of Old Government House to the surrounding grounds, the students will work collaboratively to design a still life composed of their own personal objects and those from the artist's collection and sketch this vignette framed by the House and gardens.

All materials provided. Students are asked to bring a personal object to sketch and refreshments.
