A Governors Invitational Soiree

Join the Soirées Musicales Quintette as they return to Old Government House, the original social hub of Queensland, for an evening of beautiful colonial era musical highlights. Soirées Musicales Quintette's unique sound evokes a magical nostalgia, while also bringing fresh life to rarely-heard repertoire.

Old Government House has a long history of formal balls, receptions and concerts by guest artists including the acclaimed Carandini family of singers, the Brisbane Liedertafel and international diva Emma Albani.

The program features selections from opera, sacred works, parlour songs, ballads, partsongs and dance music that entertained six of the Queensland governors who resided at The House across the half-century to 1910. We also celebrate the 10th anniversary of the re-opening of this beautifully restored sandstone marvel in 2009.
