Songs of Nature, Love and Mystery

Songs of Nature, Love and Mystery is a program  of French and German vocal ensemble music presented by Soirees Musicales Quintette. Highlights include the song-drama Minnespiel by Schumann, and a bracket of works by Carl Loewe including a rarely-heard setting of Goethe's powerfully tragic poem Erlkönig. In addition, a selection of duets by French romantic composers including Gounod, Saint-Saëns, Chausson and Duparc and the wonderful cycle Chansons des Bois d'Aramanthe.
